Daniel Moy

When I was in college, I was a history and political science major. I thought at the time I wanted to become a teacher. After a while, I changed my mind and thought I would become a reporter. Six months at Medill changed my mind again. I was a researcher for a while until I found something that would pay me more. For the past 38 years, I have been your garden variety mainframe application programmer analyst. I currently write and maintain software and build reports supporting accounting and manufacturing software for a business accounting software company based in the Chicago area. For the past decade-plus, I have been traveling around the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes regions capturing images of interest. My main concentration is in the Driftless Area, which covers southwest Wisconsin, southeast Minnesota, northeast Iowa, and northwest Illinois. I have enjoyed working in the Driftless, albeit on a part-time basis. I was attracted by the region’s beauty and the animal kingdom with which I have come in visual contact. And I return to interact with the people I have met throughout the years and have become friendly and familiar with.
