Our Process
At Little Creek Press, we pride ourselves on making the publishing process easy.
We provide a stress-free one-stop experience for passionate Wisconsin authors looking to publish quality books that are in high demand. While all projects are unique, we tend to follow the same general process which we have described below.
Manuscript Review
Submit Your Manuscript
Please review our submission process here.
Review of Manuscript
LCP and an editor will review your manuscript. This review gives us insight into what type of work may need to be done. It also provides us with an idea of the cost of the recommended copyediting and proofreading.
Conversation with Author
We meet to discuss expectations, timeline, and other important details.
Decision
Once we have all the information we need, LCP will make a decision on what is next. In some cases, a book proposal is provided or editorial suggestions will be made. In other cases, we will wish you the best of luck either because we are not able to take on that book at that time or because we feel it is not a perfect fit for us.

Publishing Process
Proposal
If a proposal is presented and the author agrees to publish with Little Creek Press, a timeline is put in place, and the author submits their final manuscript for editing.
Editing
Once edits are complete, the manuscript will be returned to the author with tracked changes for review. Once the author accepts the manuscript, it moves into design and layout.
Layout and Design
Proofs will be supplied via email in PDF format for the author to respond to. Proofing continues on the interior and cover until the author is 100 percent happy and ready to sign off.
Printing
If your book is printed via Ingram, the final book files will be uploaded by LCP for review. Once accepted, the author can order as few or as many books as they are comfortable with. If we are printing traditionally at a Wisconsin printer, print files are submitted for printing.
Distribution and Sales
We will take care of the distribution, but the best books have active authors sharing and talking about their books as much as possible. Your book will be available in the LCP bookstore to begin with, and based on printing (Ingram vs traditional), the book will be available in other places as well.
Marketing and Public Relations
Consult with our marketer-in-chief and sales services partner to help get your book out into the world.
Congratulations!
Your story is now officially a book!
