Jeff Wild

Jeff Wild, a Lutheran pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, was ordained in 1980. He served congregations in Racine, Janesville, and Madison until his retirement in 2015. Upon his retirement, Jeff enrolled in the UW-Extension Master Gardeners course and fulfilled the requirements to become a master gardener. Jeff was the founder of the Madison Christian Community Food Pantry Garden where he continues to help with special projects and consults with congregations in their efforts to establish food pantry gardens. Jeff is also certified in permaculture design and has a small business named Yard Reformations. During winter months, Jeff hones his blacksmithing skills to make garden tools. He has a special interest in forging firearms into garden tools.

Jeff has co-authored with Peter Bakken, Church on Earth: Grounding Your Ministry in a Sense of Place, and written a children’s book, How Abad and Shamar Became Gardeners.

Jeff and his wife, Nan, live in Madison, Wisconsin. They have two adult children, Andrew and Beth.
