ABOUT THE AUTHOR - Margaret George and Lydia Margaret Adcock
Margaret George is best known as a New York Times bestselling author of eight biographical novels about pivotal historical characters. She is also the author of Lucille Lost, an illustrated children’s book about a lost tortoise in Madison, Wisconsin, that was the September 2006 choice of Wisconsin’s First Lady Jessica Doyle for intermediate grades 3−5 for the “Read On Wisconsin!” statewide book club. Margaret has compiled the scientific platypus facts as a resource at the end of The Quest of the Platypus.
Lydia Margaret Adcock, Margaret George’s granddaughter, was a fifth-grader in Washington, D.C., when she conceived the idea for Penelope Platypus, wrote the story, and did the illustrations. She loves animals and was especially fascinated by the platypus. She has five pet tortoises.
