Meet Our Partners
Authors are encouraged to take advantage of our direct partnership with Mineral Point’s Republic of Letters Bookstore, The Book Kitchen, and Shake Rag Alley.
Teaming up with our local community brings numerous benefits for everyone involved. When we support one another, we can joyfully share successes, offer assistance during challenges, and cross-promote together. This ongoing mutual support not only deepens our personal connections but also fosters collaboration, playing a key role in building a more resilient and closely-knit community.
Republic of Letters Bookstore
Since opening in 2023, the Republic of Letters Bookstore has quickly become a downtown Mineral Point fixture, hosting multiple events for readers of all ages. We deeply value our close partnership with owners Leslie Damaso and Keith Burrows and feel fortunate to provide our authors with the following opportunities.
Book Sales
All Little Creek Press titles are sold in the Republic of Letters Bookstore as well as through their online catalog.
Author Events
You can host a book signing, author presentation, or another event inside the beautiful Republic of Letters Bookstore. This is a great way to get your name and book out there, speak with other community members, and of course sell more books! It is also a great way to cross-promote through social media, newsletters, and simple word-of-mouth.
The Book Kitchen
The Book Kitchen is a teaching kitchen housed in the Republic of Letters Bookstore on 151 High Street in Mineral Point, Wisconsin.
It is a place to gather, have fun, learn, and get creative in the kitchen. We provide hands-on and demonstration cooking and baking classes taught by chefs and cookbook authors showcasing recipes and techniques primarily from cookbooks.
Book Sales
Cookbook authors can take advantage of yet another opportunity to sell and promote their books through The Book Kitchen! Many of their classes center around a specific cookbook that they cook from, as well as sell directly to students.
Cookbook Author Events
Want to host a tasting? Book signing? Demo? The Book Kitchen, in partnership with the Republic of Letters Bookstore, offers an incredibly unique opportunity to provide a cookbook author presentation that incorporates all of the senses!
Shake Rag Alley Center for the Arts
Shake Rag Alley Center for the Arts opened as a nonprofit arts center in 2004 with the mission to “provide educational experiences in visual, performing, and literary arts for adults and children; cultivate the creativity that thrives in our rural community; and rehabilitate and preserve our historic buildings and rustic campus.”
It now occupies nine buildings in the 2.5-acre oasis of gardens, trees, and rambling paths near downtown Mineral Point.
Writers Workshops and Retreats
Shake Rag Alley hosts workshops and retreats throughout the year that often feature local authors.Â
Author Events
For authors looking for a unique space to host an event, Shake Rag Alley has both indoor and outdoor spaces.
